Hello Trail Runners. Registration is open for the 2017 Blue Mound Trail Run. This year the long race will be close to 20K and take you to the top of the mound twice. We ran this route a few years ago, it starts by circling counter clockwise halfway around the mound and coming up the trail to the west tower, then down through the campground. The 10K will only go up top once but will take in the lovely section on weeping rocks trail coming up from Pleasure Valley. We are looking forward to seeing all of you old friends and new on June 3rd.
Happy Trails to you.
Registration is open.
For an early season trail run try the May 6th Donald Dash, the first of the Savanna Trail Run Series.
Savanna Trail Run Series
Participate in at least four of the five Dane County trail races from May to November and be part of our natural and trail running heritage. You'll traverse woods, hills, and prairies across the county at Donald, Indian Lake, and McCarthy county parks, Blue Mound state park, and Blackhawk Ridge above the Wisconsin River. The landscape of southern Wisconsin was oak savanna, and restoration projects are going on in all our Savanna Series parks. Check out the details here.
Last fall's new 100K Club members proudly wear their hats.
